摘要
“什么x不x”是现代汉语口语中的常用句式,有原式和变式两种形式。文章从句法、语义、语用三方面对它进行了分析、描写,初步揭示了这种特有句式的某些特点,并认知了其在言语交际中的作用。这种句式体现了语言中的“经济原则”和“凸显原则”,同时带有语主本身强烈的消极情感因素。事实证明:该句式与“什么”的虚化有着密切的关系。
＂What is…or not…＂ is a common sentence pattern in modem spoken Chinese,which includes an original one and a variable one. In this article, the pattern will be analysed and described in syntax, semantics and pragmatic so as to preliminarily reveal its certain characteristics and make clear its function in the word communication. It reflects the ＂economic principle＂ and the ＂protruding principle＂ in language, and shows the speaker＇s strong negative emotion . It is proved that this pattern has a close connection with the empty meanings of ＂what＂.
