摘要
作者简要地介绍了跨文化交际学这门学科,并探讨了培养学生跨文化交际能力的作用和意义以及如何培养学生的跨文化交际能力等几个方面的问题,指出要真正有效地掌握和使用一门语言,仅有语音、语法和词汇基础是远远不够的。教师必须有意识地培养学生的跨文化交际能力,才能打破“哑巴英语”的僵局,使学生能够得心应手地使用英语进行口头或书面的跨文化交际。
This paper introduces briefly intercultural communication as a subject,and approaches it from the following andles: the function and meaning of fostering students' intercultural communicative competence and how to achieve this purpose. It is also pointed out in this paper that pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary alone cannot grant a good command of a language. Only when the teachers make conscious efforts to foster students' intercultural communicative competence, can they use English with facility to communicate with people with different cultural backgrounds.
