摘要
苏南是我国的经济较发达地区．本文借助于现代航空遥感技术，解译了50年代以来苏南5座典型小城市的形态演变过程，分析了形态演变的内在动因，并比较了三个不同历史阶段及新时期的形态演变的特征．最后，作者归纳总结了改革开放前苏南城镇形态演化的几点规律性结论．
Southern Jiangsu is an economically developed area in today's China. Aided by modern remote sensing technology and air mapsl this paper illustrates the evolu tion process of urban form which based on the case study of five typical small cities in this area from 1995's, analyses its inner motive reason and compares its nature of evolution of forms frotn three different historic periods. Several essen tial laws are summarized in the end of this paper
