In the light of the black female, Toni Morrison elaborates the living conditions of the black in her first novel the Bluest Eyes. The author of this paper expounds that the nature of Geraldine, Pauline and Pecola's desir for blue eyes is self-hatred with the vivid description of the features of racial self-loathing. It is concluded that their tragedy reflects the racial and gender oppression which makes them internalize the while, middle-class values and their self-hatred is caused by the loss of their own culture and values.
