Under a certain condition, the solid compounds of Pr(Ⅳ)(Ⅱ) basic car-bonatas have been prepared by chemical oxidation of potassium persulfata in aqueous solution. The oxidizing rate of Pr(Ⅱ) comes to 68.17 per cent. It has been characteristed by chemical analysis, UV, IR, thermal analysis and X-ray powder diffraction.
