The carboxymethylation method for synthesis of amide ether carboxylates （AMEC） is introduced. The excellent properties such as good cleansing, foamability, foam boosting, mildness, conditioning effect, low toxicity and low skin irritation in application are emphatically discussed, and the research orientation of AMEC is also pointed out. 21 references are cited.
