摘要
介绍了有关并行光发射模块设计与制作的最新进展,制作并测试了12信道并行光发射模块,单信道传输速率大于2.5 Gbit/s(最高可达3 Gbit/s),12信道并行总传输速率为30 Gbit/s。模块采用波长为850 nm的垂直腔面发射激光器(VCSEL)作光源,激光器与驱动电路芯片直接用Au丝连接,输出光束直接耦合进入12信道的光纤阵列中,在单信道8 mA的工作电流下,可以测到最高为3 Gbit/s的清晰眼图。
We reported on our recent progress in the design and fabrication of a parallel optical transmitter. The 12-channel parallel optical transmitter with each channel's data rate up to 3 Gbit/s was designed and measured. An 850 nm vertical cavity surface emitting laser(VCSEL) array was adopted as the light source,and the VCSEL chip was directly wire bonded to a 12-channel driver IC. The outputs of the VCSEL array were directly coupled into a 12-channel fiber array. The eye diagram at 3 Gbit/s was achieved with the optical output more than 1 mW at operating current 8 mA.
