摘要
隐喻性词汇有三种主要构成方式,即词性转化、添加词缀和使用分词,它在语言学方面有重要功能,即能填补词汇空缺,增强表达的准确性和形象性。通过对隐喻性词汇的构成及其语言学功能的分析,可以知道:在外语教学中加强对隐喻的关注,能够培养及提高学生理解词汇意义的生成与引申的能力,有助于词汇的记忆,更好地帮助学生了解中西方文化差异,对语言教学有现实意义。
The paper discusses how metaphorical words come into being and the three major ways of building metaphorical words in English. It emphasizes the linguistic functions of metaphor and its instructive use in English language teaching and learning. It helps to foster students' ability to understand metaphorical meanings, and leads to a better memorization of words. It also provides a possible channel for the students to learn about cultural differences.
