This paper presents that Washington Accord, which is an agreement of international recognition of engineering programs, is continuously developing. From the example of Germany, it can be seen what a country, which is seeking for the membership of the Ac- cord, is doing on engineering education and its accreditation. From the example of Hong Kong, it is learned how ahead in progress an engineering organization, which has already been a member of the Accord, can go along the road of international recognition of qualifica- tions and degrees, The process of applying for a membership of the Accord is not only a process of development of engineering accreditation in a country, but also a process to open a route for the local engineering education to be internationally recognized, and for the mobility of engineering professionals, in order to clear away obstacles for globalization of local economy.
