Objective: To analyze the genetic homology of Candida isolates from patients with recurrent oral candidiasis, Method:Computer-assisted random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) analysis was applied to fingerprint 10 oral Candida strains(Pl : 004,022; P2 : 011,020,027,029; P3 : 007,016; P4 : 023,024) isolated from 4 patients suffering from recurrent oral candidiasis. The genetic homology of the strains were analyzed by the DNA fingerprinting map. Result: Nine strains were identified as Candida albicans and the other one was Candida tropicalis. There was high similarity between RAPD fingerprints of strains from P1 and P3 respectively. And there was also high similarity between strains 020, 027,029 from P2, however, strain 011 was different. The two strains from P4 were different species. Conclusion: There may be two reasons for the happening of recurrent oral candidiasis: recurrence and/or reinfection.
