摘要
客运提速是提高既有铁路运输能力和服务质量的最佳途径，ＳＳ８型电力机车是适应我国电气化铁路客运提速的主型机车，文章对其作了简要介绍。
Speed upgrading is the optimal solution for both higher passenger transport capacity and better service on existing railways, SS8 is the main mode of electric locomotive developed for such a purpose on electrfied lines. This article is a brief presentation of SS8 electric locomotive.
