Wool contained grease is scourd by a method including a hot suint bowl treatment. It comprises the following steps: 1. treating the wool with an aqueous medium containing a detergent agent for reducing free calcium and magnesium at a temperature of at least 45℃; and thereafter 2. treating the wool with an aqueous medium of pH at least 8, containing a detegent at a temperature of no less than 45℃
