摘要
本文试图从差分术的角度考察中国数学史上'百鸡问题'及其解法的发展。认为中国古代数学家求解这类问题的基本思想方法是设法减少题目中未知元的个数,使不定解的问题转化为确定解的问题。
This paper attempts to make a historical survey of the problem of one hundred fowls appearing in Mathematical Arts of Zhang Qiujian. It points out that the main idea of ancient Chinese mathematicians for calculating such problems was to change an indeterminate problem into a determinate one.
