摘要
人力车在民国时期广州的城市交通中曾扮演着重要的角色。庞大的人力车夫群是社会底层劳动人民悲惨生活的一个缩影,他们的经历和遭遇也生动地折射出市政管理中政府与社会之关系。广州市政府对人力车夫的救助,在一定程度上,改善了他们的生存条件,也有利于社会矛盾的缓和。
The rickshaw was an important means of transportation in Canton during the Republican China. The huge populstion of the rickshaw was the epitome of the laboring people＇s miserable condition, and their experiences represented the relation of the government and the society. The Canton municipality＇s relief can not only help to improve the living condition of the rickshaw men, but also to relax the social contradictions.
