摘要
Than是英语中非常重要的关系词,在语义合成过程显得十分重要,它不仅是构成比较语义结构不可或缺的连接词,也是提高委婉、强调、对照、比拟、夸张等修辞效果的重要手段。虽然它十分常用,但在语用过程中还存在许多理解不到位、应用不合理的问题。因而有必要进行专项研究,以便加深理解,提高语用能力。
＇Than＇ is particularly important in the process of semantic combination because it is an indispensable connective in forming comparative structure and an important one in improving rhetorical effects in the form of euphemism, emphasis, antithesis, analogy and hyperbole. Moreover, some problems concerning the usage of it exist. Therefore,it is essential to have a specific research of it so that we have a better understanding and a better master of it.
