The Society of Automotive Engineering U.S.has put forth in 1994 the standard specification of second generation on board diagnostic system OBDⅡ,in accordance with which various automotive manufactures provide unified diagnostic mode so that diagnostic inspection may be carried out for different vehicles with the same instrument,and great facility is provided for maintenance.The paper presents in detail the main features,operating process and failure codes of the OBDⅡ system.
