摘要
1840年鸦片战争迫使中国由传统社会向现代社会转型。在政治、文化的深层次上,这一转型过程恰好与近代报刊的发展形成了因果互动关系。一方面,社会转型为近代报刊带来了前所未有的发展机遇;另一方面,近代报刊的存在与发展,对于近代中国社会转型同样具有不可低估的积极意义。
The Opium War of 1840 forced China to transform from traditional society to modem society. On political and cultural levels, this transformation and the development of modem press formed an interactive relation of cause and effect, On one hand, the social transformation brought unprecedented opportunities of development for modem press; on the other hand, the existence and development had positive significance for the social transformation of modem China.
