The colour reaction of cis-dipicryldibenzo-18-crown-6 with potassium in the medium of pH 8.5 was studied. The maximum absorption of the complex is at 460nm. Following Beer's law for potassiumis in the range of 0-8.0μg/5. 4mL The apparent molar absorptivity at 460nm is 9.4×10￣3L· mol￣(-1)·cm￣(-1) .The molar ratio of potassium to the reagent in the complex is 1: 1.
