Citrus Tristeza Virus (CTV) is one of the most economically important pathogen of citrus in many citrus producing areas of the world. Pummelo dwarf caused by CTV has become a serious problem in China recently. In order to discover their pathogenic characteristics, 123 CTV isolates infecting pummelo were studied by p25/Hinf1 RFLP assay. Single p25/Hinf1 RFLP groups were detected in 82.9% of the 123 samples, and the dominant group was p25/Hinf1 RFLP group 6,which accounted for 79.7% of the total. There were 4 isolates belonging to p25/Hinf1 RFLP group 5,which could be mild CTV strains and should be further studied.
