摘要
《墨经》中的“或不容尺，有穷；莫不容尺，无穷也”一条，历来有多种不同的解释。本文在对这些解释进行比较详细的分析和考辨后，认为以钱宝琮的解释——（对一段距离）一尺一尺地往前量，如果量到某处，前面容不下一尺之长，则它有穷；如果无论量到什么地方，前面都还能容下一尺之长，则它是无穷的，最为精当。同时，本文还把《墨经》的这个命题与阿基米德公理作了一个初步的比较。
There are many different explanations of an article in Mo Jing (MohistCanon) Concerning the concept of infinity. By analysing and examining these explanations,the author concludes that only the one given by Qian Baocong is in accord with the originalmeaning of this article. Meanwhile, the author makes a comparison between the article ofMo Jing and the Archimedean axiom.
