CONNECTION BETWEEN GEOMAGNETIC FIELD AND THE EARTH'S INTERIOR

摘要 有关地球磁场极性倒转周期、稳定的地磁极性间隔、极性倒转过程的持续时间以及快速倒转等现象的时间尺度与地球内部物理化学过程之间的相关性,是当代地球科学的前沿课题之一;地球磁场起源理论研究则是古老而富有挑战的科学难题;研究地球内部的结构、物质组成和物理化学特征及动力学过程是认识社会持续发展过程中的资源、环境与灾害三大主题的重要途径。本文对上述领域的研究成果进行了总结分析,并提出了自己的看法。 It is very important to study the connection between geomagnetic field and physical/ chemical action in the Earth's interior. Espacially, reversal frequency may be modulated by mantle convection; the overturn time of core fluid, being much shorter than the time interval of stable polarity, is close to the duration time of polarity transition, which may partly imply that geomagnetic polarity reversal be controlled by the dynamo of the mantle; rapid polarity shift during transition , taking about a hundred years, may be produced by the core-mantle transition zone (D' layer). The basic theory of generation of the Earth's magnetic field,being typical geoscience,remains one of nature's most challenged phenomena. To study the structure, mineral composition and dynamical action in the Earth's interior is most important to understanding resource, environment and disaster for serving social development. A brief review about the above studies has been presented in this paper.
