The distribution of Ya pear black skin (YPBS) in Ya pear major producing regions of Hebei province and symptom typies were investigated. The factors affecting YPBS and control approaches were determined. It was suggested that the activities of peroxidase (POD) and polyphenoloxidaze (PPO) were the main causes of YPBS. The experiment indicated that vitamin E played an important role in protecting polyphenol compounds from oxidizing, according to the change of vitamn E content in fruit skin between health and disease portion, which supplied basic theory for controlling YPBS by using keeping fresh paper treated with anti-oxidizer.
