The effect of sodium dodecyl sulfonate(R_(12)SO_3Na)on the viscosity of aqueous so-lutions of copolymer of acrylamide and sodium allylsulfonate(ASA)in the presence of NaCland/or n-butyl alcohol(R_4OH) has been studied.It is shown that the intrinsic viscosity[η]of PASA decreases with the increase of the concentration of R_(12)SO_3Na in the presence of bothNaCl and NaCl-R_4OH, but increases,when only R_4OH is preserit.The effect of R_(12)SO_3Naon the viscosity of polyacrylamide(PAM)solution is similar to that of mineral salts, where-as the viscosity of PASA increases with the R_(12)SO_3Na.
