EPF was isolated and purified from the blood of early pregnant cow using the tec-hniques of salting out, ion-exchange chromatograpliy, PAGE and electroelution etc. Itsactivity and content in blood was detected. The rate of E rosette forrning cell inhibitionwas 89.5%. SDS-PAGE analysis showed that the MW of the polypeptide was 44 KDa.the content of the EPF was about 1ug/dl in the blood. The polyclonal antibodies toEPF. Either in isolation or in combination with monoclonal antibodies to EPF, can beused in an early pregnancy diagnosis for mammalas, including humans in serum orurine.
