Abstract The coating processest (1C1B or 2C1B) of metallic painthave been described. The orientation of aluminium flakeis the key for the product quality. Factors influencing thealuminium orientation, such as binder, additives, solventsand spray methods, were discussed. The reasons causingthe film defects and trouble shcoting approaches havebeen suggested .
