The progress in the world plastics industry in 1993~1994 is given in this paper. The plastics output of USA, Japan, Federal Republic of Germany, the former Soviet Union, France, Italy, England and the output of Asia, West Europe (including all of the countries of the European Common Market, as well as Austria, Fin land, Norway, Switzerland and Sweden), East Europe, North America, Central South America and Oceanica. The output, consumption and synthesis technology for plastics materical, the application and development of plastics product, and the new grades of resin are also introduced in great detail, classified as general thermoplastics resin (including PE, PP, PS, ABS and PVC) , engineering plastics (including nylon, PC, thermoplastic poiyoxymethylene and modified PPO/PPE), thermoset resin (including phenolic, polyurethane, unsaturated polyester and epoxy resin), special engineering plastics (including PPS, liquid crystal polymer, PES, polyether ether ketone and plyarylate) and others (including silicone resin and acrylic resin).
