It is reported in this paper that the heavy metal contents of commercial bivalves and that distributed trend of heavy metal contents of oysters in coastal waters south to the Changjiang Estuary. It has shown that content of Zn in the bivalves is the highest and content of Hg is the lowest. The average content of each heavy metal in the bivalves is arranged generally in the order of Zn>Cu > As ≈Cd >Cr≈Pb > Hg. The contents of Hg, Pb, Cr, As in oyster in this coastal waters is well distributed and contents of Cu,Zn,Cd is very much different. The contents of Cu, Zn, Cd in oyster in coastal Zhuhai is the highest. It is 431 × 10-6 ~ 474 ×10-6, 864 ×10-6 ~1044 ×10-6, 7.02 × 10-6~ 8. 75 × 10-6 (m/m ), respectively. The major reason perhaps is the industry pollution. As oysters are widely distributed in the coastal waters and concentrate Cu,Zn,Cd, it is recommended as a indicator of pollution of Cu,Zn,Cd.
