Objective:The neurology mechanism of motor aging was studied during simple first finger visual-motor activities by magnetic source imaging (MSI).Method: Thirteen right-handed healthy volunteers ( male, 20-85 year sold) participated in the study. Their cerebral electromagnetic signal in both temporal and spatial sequence was measured when they were alternatively doing simple first finger visual-motor activities of left or right hand followinglight cadence being showed in front of the subjects.Result:No significant difference between the young and the elder group in movement latent periods of both hands was found, 55ms for the left hand, 59ms for the right hand, on average. The localizatlons of cerebral motor cortex fall down the finger regions of both sides. The movement latent periods of the senility group were prolonged, especially in the non-dominant hemisphere, 90-127ms for right side,Conclusion:Motor function degeneration with aging in adults mostly occurred in the senility which is older than 75 years old; the senile brain change is probably one of the neurology mechanism of motor aging; motor function degeneration is characterized of the slower nerve conduction and the dysfunction of motor coordination; prolonged, regular daily activities may prevent aging of motor-control system from speeding uo in senile time.
