Abstract In this paper, we introduce a strongly overlapping domain decomposition method for Crouzeix-Raviart nonconforming finite element, which can be implemented in parallel high efficiency. We prove that the convergence rate of the method is on timal, independent of H and h,the diameters of the coarse triangulation and finite element triangulation respectively. The key technique is the construction of a proper interpolation operator which builds a bridge between the nonconforming finite element space and the relative conforming finite element space.
