The molecular electron ic spectra of the methylpolyene aldehydes have been calculated by theMHMO(I)and MHMO(Ⅱ)methods. Also stud ied are the linear relationships between theexperimentul wave length and differences of energies between HOMO and LUMO by HMO,MHMO(x),MHMO(Ⅰ)and MHMO(Ⅱ) methods.Finally brief discussion has been made on electronicspectra and the molecular structure.
