Dongzhai Gang is a harbour of Qiongshan county near Haikou, Hainan. The Natural Mangrove Reserve is on the coast of the harbour, where the mangroves vegetation is better preserved. The mangroves of the reserve consists of 28 species belonging to 17 families out of a total of 37 species belonging to 22 families of mangroves in china. According to the characteristics, including the environment, ect. the composition of the mangroves may be classified into 3 types and10 communities,i. e.: I. the dwarf shrub type, with (1) Avicennia manna community; (2)Aegiceras corniculata community; Ⅱ. densely big shrub type, with (1) Rhizophora stylosa community;(2) Ceriops tagal community; (3) kandelia candel community; (4) Lumnitzera racemosa community, Ⅲ. tall thin forest type with (1) Bruquiera sexangula community; (2)Bruguiera gymnorrhiza community; (3) Excoecaria agallocha community, (4) Pongamia pinnata+Bruguiera sexangula-Lumnitzera racemosa community.
