７０年代以来，野生大壁虎（ＧｅｋｋｏｇｅｃｋｏＬ．）的数量急剧减少。而自然条件下大壁虎的生态学研究，尚未见报道。本文详细地记录了广西陇瑞自然保护区中心站周围大壁虎求偶鸣叫的昼夜变化及月变化，并利用其鸣叫特点进行了大壁虎成体密度的调查。大壁虎在凌晨、傍晚及午夜形成一个昼夜的３个鸣叫峰，其中以傍晚１８：３０～２０：３０时的鸣叫频次最高。５～６月形成全年的鸣叫高峰，在大壁虎的分布区，向北则全年的鸣叫高峰延后，向南则提前，与气温的回升有关。陇瑞自然保护区中心站周围岩石壁上的性成熟大壁虎的密度约为０．０６９条／１００ｍ２。粗略统计，在陇瑞自然保护区每年被捕捉的大壁虎在２４００条以上。
Since 1970's, population of Gekko gecko L. in Longrui Natural Reserve has been sharply decreasing, estimated for 80% ～90% of loss ratio. This paper is the first report on daily and month changes of its court-calling and use the result of investigation to estimate the adult density through calling characters. Gekko gecko L. holds the peak of calling in May to June in a year, and within this period, three peaks at dawn, dark and midnight respectively for a 24 hours, the highest.calling frequency occurred in 18: 30～20: 30. The numbers of dark calling is large and stable in May and then decrease and fluctuate in June. There is about 0. 069 adult Gekko gecko L. per 100 m2 on the rocky mountains around centre station of Longrui Natural Reserve. The number of Gekko gecko L. captured from the Reserve adds up to about 2 400 each year.
