摘要
报导了利用行波半导体激光放大器进行的140Mbit/s传输实验,对光放大器增备电流、增益。输入功率以及输出-输入功率特性进行了测试,并分析了光滤波器对传输性能的影响。实验结果表明,行波半导体激光放大器对于140Mbit/s数字信号具有较好的线性增益,可使传输距离延长40~50Km,且传输信号码形没有畸变。另一方面,放大器偏振态控制及光学滤波器的性能对于传输特性有重要影响。
A 140 Mbit/s transmission experiment using the travelling-wave semiconductor laser amplifier(TW-SLA)is reported in this paper.The characteristics of gain-current,gain-input power and input power-ouputpower of TW-SLA are measured and the influence of the optical filter on the transmission characteristics isanalyzed. Experimental results show that TW-SLA has a good linear gain for the 140 Mbit/s digital signal.The repeater distance can be extended 40~50 kilometres with no transmission signal distortion. On theother hand,the characteristics of the optical filter and the control of polarization-state of the amplifier haveanimportant influence on the transmission characteristics.
