摘要
根据岩石及化石组合特征，对辽东太子河流域原本溪组进行了重新划分，层序自下而上为：１．木盂子组：代表本区早石炭世晚期地层；２．田师付组：代表本区中石炭世早期地层，３．狭义的本溪组：仅代表原本溪组的上部，时代为中石炭世晚期。
The age of the 'Benxi Formation' in the Taizi River Valley of Eastern Liaoning is generally considered as late Middle Carboniferous. Liu Fa (1987) called its lower part the 'Tianshifu Formation' and considered it to be early Middle Carboniferous. In this paper,the author redivides and emends the 'Benxi Formation' on the basis of the lithological characteristics and fossil assemblages. It is redivided ascendingly into: 1) the Muyuzi Formation, its type section being at Muyuzi of Huanren, Liaoning and representing the late Early Carboniferous of this area; 2) the Tianshifu Formation, only confined to the upper part of Liu's 'Tianshifu Formation', the age being early Middle Carboniferous; 3) the Benxi Formation representing only the upper part of the original 'Benxi Formation' and being of late Middle Carboniferous age.
