An introduction to a new generation tactical surface-to-surface missile system of the U.S.A.──the Army TACMS,is presented.The missile,the loader/launcher and the warhead,as well as evolution of the system's development program and new technology demonstration having been carried out before the full scale engineering development are described.It is attributed to the advanced research programs having been carried out that TLV could successfully develop the high performance missile system in a short period.
