摘要
在迈向２１世纪的世界经济剧烈竞争中，我国许多大城市和地区中心城市纷纷提出了国际性城市的战略目标。这些目标总体上呈现两大特征：一方面反映了国际性城市是现代国际社会发展中的必然趋势；另一方面分析了自己城市达到国际性城市的可能性和目标。但是，作为一种战略，它的目标能否成为现实，重要的在于城市之间的竞争性，最后，能够济身于国际性城市的终究是少数几个。
Facing the worldwide econmic competition in the period approaching to the Zlst century, many of our large cities and regional central cities set a target to become international metropolise. It contains two implications, firstly, the natural trend of the modern international society; secondly, the possibility and the development tendency of the cities. However, as a strategy, whether this target can be realized or not depends on the result in city competition. It is believed that only a few of them can be qualified to win the title.
