摘要
为在工程实践中SONET(同步光缆网)和SDH(同步数字系列)设备的有效互通提供理论依据,本文在传输速率、复用结构、映射方式、开销字节等方面对SONET和SDH之间的差异作了比较和研究,结果表明,SONET和SDH虽是不相同的数字传输系列,但两者间是相互兼容可以互通的。
The differences and compatibility between SONET and SDH are major prob-lems at present in synchronous transmission networking and equipment selec-tion. For providing a theoretical basis on effectively interworking between SONET and SDH in engineering practice. This paper compares and analyses the differences and compatibility between SONET and SDH in transport rates;multiplexing structure; payload mappings and overhead bytes,the results show that although SONET and SDH are not identical digital hierarchies,they are compatible and interworkable.
