介绍了美国高等职业技术教育的概况和特点；认为我国社会经济的发展已经提出了发展高等职业技术教育的需求；并研究了我国发展高等职业技术教育的几个问题。
The paper discusse development and characterisics of higher vocational andtechnical education in the United States。It believes that china’s social and economic developmentrequires the development of higher vocational and technical education. The paper also studies someof the problems that exist in developing higher vocational and technical education. [
