摘要
CD44变异型被认为与某些癌的发生和转移有关。作者的研究结果进一步表明:CD44基因在脑转移瘤中的表达具有高度异质性;变异型外显子5和6(v5/v6)均匀存在于细胞群体中;而在那些邻近坏死区、肿瘤边缘和浸润性的部分癌细胞中,可见v7~v10表达上调。该结果提示:CD44表达的异质性,除与肿瘤细胞内在因素有关外,也受其周围的微环境影响;CD44v同种异构体的共存,可赋予转移细胞某些独特的能力,使其能有效地扩散至远隔器官,并在那里形成转移灶。
Abstract CD44v adhesion molecules have been
known to be related with carcinogenesis and metastasisof some human
cancers including brain metastases of various origin.In this study,we
demon-strated further that CD44v expression in brain metastases is
extremely heterogeneous.Generally,v5/v6 is homogeneously expressed in
the cell populations,while up-regulated v7~v10 could beusually found
in a proportion of tumor cells,especially those close to necrosis,at
the tumor bor-der and with strong tendency of invasiveness.Our data
thus suggest that heterogeneous CD44vexpression may be determined not
only by intrinsic nature of the cells but also by the
surroundingmicro-environment.Expression of multiple isoforms of CD44v
may confer metastatic cells certainunique abilities,allowing them to
localize,then to form metastatic colony in the brain.
