摘要
城市林业是为城市居民创造优美的生活环境和经济繁荣、社会进步而培育和管理树木的一种高尚事业。美国城市林业的特色是规模大、形式多样、结合广泛、现代化和美化的统一，美国城市林业布局因沿袭欧洲古典造园艺术，其特点是着眼于几何美，但当前正演变为以生态为主导的生态林业。我国城市林业应改变以视觉景观为主的传统造园思想，坚持以“绿”为主，建成具有一定绿地规模与城市建筑物相适应的城市生态林业体系。
Urban forestry is a lofty business of tree culture which may not only contribute a beauti-ful and confortable environment for the residents but also bring on a progressive society aiid prosperiouseconomtcs.The characteristics of American urban forcstry are lage scale,multiple types,extensive con-bination as well as the unity of mordernizition and aesthetic.It is still to take over the formal designwhich is the classic art of Europe,but now mainly in succesion to ecological forestry. As to Chinese urbanforestry. the traditional thinking over garden construction should be changed into a rich creative one. That is to make the certain scale of green land fit the city building so as to form a urban system of eco-logical forestry.
