Mineral water spots evaluated and appraised by the provincial level are located centrally in Yangtze delta, plain and western area of Huaibei plain geographically. The aquifer type is composed of the porosity confined water in Quaternary and Tertiary loose sediments, karst water,and fissure waters in various bedrocks including volcanic and igneous rocks, crystalline metamorphic rocks and sandshales.In the 11 municipalities under Jiangsu Province, the number of mineral water spots evaluated and appraised so far is about 130 with total exploitable amount of 100000 m3/d. However,only 60 water mills were established and bottled mineral water eutered into the market is estimated at 40 mills. Major problems of development of mineral water cover the blindness and out of controlling in the operation, and unbalance of development level,imperfect understanding for the mineral water and market, simple equipments and process as well as exceeding standards of some elements in mineral water. The solution conclude making the potentiality of appraised mineral water resources and value of high grade mineral water by reasonable methods, improving the quality of products by necessary technical training measures,strengthening the management for the products quality jointly with other administrations concerned.
