According to the field investigation and two seismic mechanisms in Liyang in 1 974 and 1979, the paper bas established three-dimensional uneven mechanical model of Maoshan active structure, stipulating the stress field by usng finite-element. The results are quite identical with the practical observations. The stress field in the shallow crust along East Maoshan fault is NWW striking Predominantly while the deep, crust is NEE striking- It provides the fact that the stress field changes with the increasing of depth and the two types of stress field are compatible. When the seismic source is the nearer vertical left-lateral strike-slip displacement, the deformation in shallow crust and surface has four types: firstly, when the seismic fault extended to the surface.the surface appears left-lateral strike-slip fault also; secoudly, when the seismic fault is burried in the crust, the surface appears reversed fault; thirdly, when the seismic fault burried in the extension-resistant basin, the surface appears tensional normal fault; finally, when the seismic fault is burried in the active fault basin, the surface appears right -lateral fault.
