The reserves and varieties of raw chemical minerals in Jiangsu are very rich including apatite, pyrite,potassium-bearing rocks, celesitite,rock salt,boron, alunite, barite, serpentinite, ruthe, mirabilite,limestone, peat and carbon dioxide. These minerals are distributed geographically in northern Jiangsu such as apatite, potassium, serpentinite and boron fin southern Jiangsu such as pyrite,celesitite and alunite. There forms a cousiderable scale for production and application of chemical minerals over several decades. However ,the level of development of minerals is lower and supply of most of raw chemical minerals fails to meet demand except celesitite so far. According to the distribution and supply and demand of mineral resources in Jiangsu,several development bases of raw chemical minerals should be established to transform resources advantage of minerals into vast economic benefit. The key of development and utilization of minerals should focus presently on the agriculture and chemical fertilizer industries.
