The subject librarian system is the inn ov ation of university library's service and the new measure for deepening the serv ice and management of the literature information. This paper introduces the gene ral situation of the trail implementation of the subject librarian system, expou nds the working contents and responsibilities of the subject librarian, and puts forward the quality that the subject librarian should possess.
