摘要
针对Internet视频通信中面临的网络带宽波动和随机丢包问题,结合精细可分级编码(FGS)、多描述编码(MDC)等容错编码方法的优点,提出了一种FGS视频流的多路径鲁棒传输方案。在该方案中,基本层码流在任意时刻都采用重传方式,对于增强层码流的各个比特平面,则根据分支路径带宽的变化自适应地选择重传或MDC方式。该方案的优点是可以同时兼顾视频流的抗丢包能力和对带宽变化的适应能力。实验结果表明,当分支路径的带宽较窄时,采用该方案可以明显提高视频重建质量。
To cope with problems such as bandwidth fluctuation and random packet loss in Internet video communication, this paper proposes a new Multiple Path Transport (MPT) scheme for Fine Granular Scalability (FGS) video, which combines the advantages of both FGS and Multiple Description Coding (MDC). In the scheme, the base layer is transmitted by duplication in each path invariably, while the bit-planes of the enhancement layer are transferred by a way that is selected adaptively from choices of duplication and MDC according to bandwidth variation of the paths. The scheme has the advantage that both packet loss resilience and bandwidth flexibility of the video stream are considered simultaneously. Experimental results show that our scheme can obviously improve the quality of the decoded video at stingy bandwidth.
