摘要
福克纳的一生是创作的一生,也是坚忍不拔的一生,其创作的动力来源于他坚强的生命意志。坚强的生命意志不断地推动他战胜痛苦与恐惧,从而获得创作的快感。福克纳的坚强的生命意志体现于恐惧与希望、生与死、忍耐与牺牲精神三个方面,这三个方面证明坚强的生命意志是福克纳一生创作的动力。
Faulkner’s life is a life of creation, as well as indomitable life. His motive power of creation comes from his staunch will of life, which pushes him forward to overcome his mental agony and fear and to acquire the sensation of creation. His staunch will of life is embodied in the three aspects of fear and hope, life and death, and spirit of patience and sacrifice, which proves to be the motive power of creation in William Faulkner’s whole life.
