摘要
《汕头话口语语法基础教程》(PrimaryLessonsinSwatowGrammar[Colloquial])是美国浸信会牧师威廉·耶士摩(Rev.WilliamAshmoreD.D)的著作,此书,由英国长老会教会出版社(EnglishPresbyterianMissionPress)1884年于汕头出版。本文以这本书正文之前的“简介”(Introduction)和正文之后的“潮州方言音节表”(ListofSyllablesRepresentingtheSoundsUsedinPronouncingtheTiechiuDialect)为材料,分析出一个120年前的潮州方言音系。这个语音系统跟现在的系统最大的不同就是有一套含有前鼻音韵尾[-n]及与其相配的入声韵尾[-t]的韵母。本文对此进行了研究,认为120年前的潮州音系确实存在这套韵母,大约在100年前开始慢慢与[-/-k]韵尾韵母合流。
Primary Lessons in Swantow Grammar was written by Rev.William Ashmore D.D, published by English Presbyterian Mission Press in Shantou, 1884. Based on the introduction before the text of the book and “List of Syllables Representing the Sounds Used in Pronouncing the Tiechiu Dialect” attached after it, the paper found out a phonological system of Tiechiu dialect which has the major difference from currently existent system in the set of front nasal consonants. After the study, the author concludes that the set of phonological system was used in Tiechiu dialect 120 years ago and gradually incorporated into consonant .
