AbstractThis paper reports a new species of Phytomastax B.-Bienko from Xingjiang. Thetype specimens are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Shaanxi Normal University.Phytomostax tianshanensis sp. nov. (figs. 1--8)This new species is allied to Phytomastax artemisiana B.-Bienko 1949 and Pkytomastax hissarica (B.-Bienko) 1947. It differs from the former in the vertex rounded into the frontal ridge: upper three ridges of hind femur and kneelopes withoutsmall spines; the lower margin of fossa antennalis of female as the same level of thelower margin of eye. It differs from the latter in the terminal part of all femorawith apical spines; with an incomplete transversal ridge between the vertex andfrontal ridge.Male unknown.Length of body: 15--16mm; length of pronotum: 2mm; length of hind femur: 9--9.5mm.Holotype , paratype 1, Xingjiang:Tekes, Sept. 6, 1989. Xi Bi-Xia.
