摘要
仅仅以亚洲某些国家在高通货膨胀的情况下仍然能保持较高的国内生产总值增长率来决定高通货膨胀是否适合于中国，是远远不够的。世界著名货币学专家托马斯·梅耶教授如是评论。梅耶教授以理论和实证研究相结合的方法，对中国经济现状做深入而精辟的分析和总结，意在告诉我们：高通货膨胀阻碍了经济的成长，中国如果不能摆正通货膨胀与经济成长的关系，那么终将不能踏上在安定中快速成长的康庄大道。
It has been a long time dispute about the effects of inflation to economic growth and a common sense has not been reached. At present, the government has decided to control investment so as to reduce inflation rate, but when scholars and experts have different views on this question, the government naturally can get a identical support. Facing pressure from all sides, the government has difficulties to carry out its settled policies and sometimesgo forward and sometimes backward. So China can not enjoy a fast development in a quit surrounding. For this reason, the American 90 Society invited famous currency experyt prof. Thomson Mayor to write this article to expound the relationship between inflation and economic growth. This article can be a reference for our domestic economists or people interested in this topic.
