Improvement Results of Local Yellow Cattle Breed by Danish Red

摘要 This paper mainly introduces the situations of Qin Chuan Cattle improvement crossbreed by Danish Red and its extension and application both in and out of Shaanxi.The experiment results show that the improvement result in each area is quite obvious,and its filial generation has the characteristics of deep red coat color, increased bodysize,rapid growth,and strong abilities of adapt ability and disease resistance;the weightof the newborns,the body weight and body size at different stages increase greatly com-paring with the local cattle;its back and loins are levelstraight with broad rump and well-developed femur muscle and udder;the milk production and meat yield are also raisedby a large margin without any decrease in draft,which brings about evident social,eco-nomic and ecological benefits. Yellow cattle improvement has already become the mainpath for many farmers to become rich. At the end of the paper,the exsisted problems inyellow cattle improvement have been raised up for the responsibles to consider.
